2025 Emerging Scholars Events
Emerging Scholars Roundtable Lunch
Join a group of fellow emerging scholars at a roundtable lunch, provided by JPS, to discuss one of six topics with senior members of the society. Each table will hold 5 emerging scholars, with a limit of 30 individuals. The lunch will take place on Thursday 5/29 from 12:30-13:45. You must register to attend the lunch. We will have the following tables at this year’s conference:
- Academic Job Market in Europe; led by María Núñez (Universidad Nebrija)
- Strategies for Academic Couples; led by Stuart Marcovitch (UNC at Greensboro)
- Planning your Publication Submission: Unspoken Rules for Success; led by Nancy Budwig (Clark University)
- Time Management in Academia; led by Shannon Audley (Smith College)
- Establishing International Collaborations; led by Alicia Barreiro (University of Buenos Aires)
- Analyzing Qualitative Data; led by Michael Bamberg (Clark University)
To register for this event, please log in and navigate to the membership site. Then, on the “Conference” drop-down menu, select “2025 Roundtable” (direct link: https://member.piaget.org/2025-emerging-scholars-roundtable/). You will select your top 3 choices from the list above and Jess Caporaso will email you with your table assignment within a week of the conference. If you have any dietary restrictions that you could not indicate on the form at the time of sign-up, please email Jess Caporaso at jlstark@uncg.edu.
Emerging Scholars Social
We will meet as a group for a casual and fun social event following Poster Session 2 on Friday 5/30 from 19:30-21:00. The event will be held at Mama’s Shelter Rooftop Bar, within walking distance of the conference venue. The event will cost $25 per person to cover heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, soft drinks, and dessert.

The event is currently limited to 40 individuals, but please email Jess Caporaso at jlstark@uncg.edu if the event fills up and you are interested in joining.

We have a specific group for 2025 Emerging Scholars in Belgrade for us to use to stay in touch with one another during the conference. You should be able to join this group once you join the general JPS group, but please email Jess Caporaso (jlstark@uncg.edu) if you run into issues. Feel free to use this channel to ask questions, see if anyone is available for a meal, share information about presentations, etc.!
