Getting to and from Vancouver International Airport:

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located just south of the city of Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is about 30 minutes drive from the airport, longer during peak traffic periods.

The airport is accessible by car (pick-up and drop-off or short-stay parking and long-stay parking options). Taxi services are available, limousines, city bus services and the YVR Airporter bus.

Taxis

From Vancouver International Airport you can take a taxi to downtown based on a metered rate according to time and distance traveled. The approximate fare to downtown Vancouver is $25 Canadian Dollars (inclusive of all taxes) under normal conditions. Taxis are readily available outside both the Domestic and International terminals.

Vancouver Airporter (shuttle bus service)

The Airporter goes from all major downtown Vancouver hotels (including the Sheraton Wall Center), Pacific Central Station (the Amtrak, ViaRail and Rocky Mountaineer station) and the cruise ship docks to Vancouver International Airport and back. Fares are in Canadian Funds (available from hotels or the bus driver):

  • Adult: one way $12.00, round trip $18.00
  • Child: one way $5.00, round trip $10.00
  • Senior: one way $8.00, round trip $16.00

Limousine Service

Limojet Gold limousines are conveniently located immediately outside the Domestic and International arrivals areas. Limousines comfortably accommodate a maximum of six passengers (luggage pending) and charge flat rates to all destinations. Public Transportation

Bus services to downtown Vancouver and the rest of the Greater Vancouver area are provided by TransLink. Buses leave the airport every few minutes and link to a mini transfer depot known as Airport Station Bus Terminal, located near the Delta Hotel.

The #424 bus stop is located on Level 1 of the Domestic Terminal. Bus schedules are available at the Customer Service Counters and at the Visitor Information Centers on the Arrivals Level of both terminals.

Several public transportation bus routes service the Airport Station Bus Terminal: The 98 B Line and Route #496 connect to downtown Vancouver, Route #100 connects to Vancouver and points east, Route #C 92 connects to the Airport South Terminal.

Fares to downtown Vancouver vary depending on the destination and time of day, either $2.25 or $3.25 and must be paid in cash, exact change. Bus service frequency and times vary depending on time of day, day of week or season.
